    Maryland to hold two virtual hearings on offshore wind this month

    The Maryland Public Service Commission this week will hold two virtual public comment hearings on the applications submitted by two offshore wind developers under Maryland’s Clean Energy Jobs Act of 2019 (CEJA). The CEJA provisions called for an additional 1,200 MW of offshore wind generation in order to meet Maryland’s clean-energy goals.

    Public Hearings Set For Offshore Wind

    OCEAN CITY — The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the dates for two virtual public hearings for proposed second phases of two offshore wind energy projects. In 2017, the PSC approved two offshore wind energy farm projects off the coast of Ocean City including Ørsted’s Skipjack I project and US Wind’s Marwin project. Technically, the PSC awarded Offshore Renewable Energy Credits, or ORECs, to the two bid award winners.
